Dr Smith is a renowned gynaecologist and certified gynaecological cancer subspecialist. He specialises in complex surgery, particularly using robotic and minimal access techniques. He provides tailored, individualised care for each patient as he believes in a personalised approach to health, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. He has a wide range of interests including a holistic perspective to menopause care, contraception and gynaecological care.

Dr Mike Smith was educated at Birmingham University Medical School where he gained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees and then after jobs in Psychiatry and Genitourinary Medicine (STI) he commenced his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
During this time, he worked in many prestigious hospitals in London, including Guy’s Hospital, University College Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital. He completed his subspecialist Oncology accreditation at Hammersmith Hospital, part of Imperial College London. He was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2000.
He was a Consultant at South Manchester University Hospital and the Christie Hospital, Manchester for 15 years and where he was lead for Colposcopy and Gynaecological Cancer Surgery. He has taught robotic surgery to surgeons across the UK and Europe. He has led Da Vinci robotic training courses on behalf of Intuitive Surgical in Oxford, London, Karolinska Institute Stockholm, Vienna Medical School University, Kiel University and ORSI Academy Strasbourg.
He is a past Treasurer and Secretary for the British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons.
He has been an invited speaker at many national and international conferences including in Greece, India, Egypt and USA, and is a widely published author for his research and work.
